David Beckham's lawyers talking to Galaxy

7:23 AM by SW

MILAN (AP) -David Beckham's lawyers are talking to the Los Angeles Galaxy to see if the club will enter into negotiations so he can stay in Italy, Milan vice president Adriano Galliani said Wednesday.
"At the moment there is neither optimism nor pessimism,'' Galliani said at the airport on his way to Scotland, where Milan is playing an exhibition against Rangers.
The England midfielder is halfway through a three-month loan with Milan that ends March 8. He has started all five matches since his arrival in Milan and has scored twice, and on Sunday he set up two of Milan's goals in their 3-1 win over Lazio.
Beckham has said he's enjoyed his return to Europe more than he expected, and while he respects the five-year contract he signed with the Galaxy in 2007, playing for Milan has been special. Galliani and Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti have made clear they would love to keep him.
The Galaxy has reiterated that it wants Beckham back when the loan ends.
Galliani, who has acknowledged Beckham's marketing appeal, said Milan was more than willing to enter into negotiations with the Galaxy but that for now no negotiations were under way and Milan hasn't even made an offer yet.
"We would look to acquire him or get him on loan until the end of the season or definitively,'' he said. "Otherwise, unfortunately for everyone starting with me, Beckham has to go back.
"Players can make their choices, but the clubs can say no to their choices. Moreover, the Los Angeles Galaxy has always been very nice to us and has behaved in a very gentlemanly manner.''
Galliani also said Beckham's lawyers are speaking with Los Angeles.
"To start and close any possible negotiation, there's time up until the night of March 8,'' Galliani added.
Beckham has also been included on Milan's 25-man roster for UEFA Cup games against Werder Bremen on Feb. 18 and 26

Becks Continues To Impress

5:25 AM by SW

Another great performance from Becks, 2 great assists helped Milan win 3-0 against Lazio. Now he just can’t leave! He should listen to Sir Bobby Robson “Beckham has earned a vast fortune. Now he should consider spending a few million to buy himself out of LA Galaxy and keep his World Cup dream alive,”

“David has one last chance on the world stage - playing for England at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa - and he must do everything to satisfy that.

“If it means money coming out of his own pocket to facilitate the move to Milan, then so be it. If he goes back to America, the dream is over for David.”

More news from the Milan camp to fuel this saga, Coach Carlo has decided to include Beckham in the UEFA squad list.

The Lazio game. Not the best first half, but everything started to turn for the better in the 2nd half.
Goal.com gave Beckham 7.5.
A brilliant display by the Englishman, as it undoubtedly was his most impressive performance in Milan colours to date. Two wonderful assists to set up the first two goals, and an all round dominant performance that led his side to victory on the night.....

Humble words from David,

“The finish from Pato was better,”
“That’s my job, to put the ball in the right place. Although, the finish was better than the pass.”
“I’m very happy. I’m enjoying myself here and I will be happy to play in the UEFA Cup,”
“I’ve learned some words I can’t say on television,” he laughed. “I’m still learning, I’m trying.”
Galliani aka Uncle Fester is holding onto any lifeline to keep Beckham from going back to L.A Galaxy on March 9th.
“We still have small hopes of keeping Beckham with us until the end of the season,”
“We’ll do everything in our power to make this happen. We have included him in the UEFA Cup list because we think that the tie with Werder Bremen will be crucial and he can give us a hand.”
